SafetyClicks.com was an initiative of AOL together with the National Schoolboard Foundation. The focus of the flash-based website was to inform children and their parents & educators about many of the potential dangers children encounter while online. The 'Safety Bot' was created by AOL and incorporated in the site. Using AOL's automated instant messenger technology, the option to add the Bot to your AIM buddy list was also included.
